I have lived and breathed art since as far back as I can recall. As a child growing up each summer in Michigan, I received one on one training from artists of the Oxbow School of Art, and I've also studied pottery, sculpture, jewelry making, drawing, painting, art history, and graphic design among other disciplines. I settled into Graphic Arts/Design/Marketing in college which has been my career for the last 26 years. I just completed successful multi-year run as Creative Director of a semi national retail furniture company's brand. I am now pursuing the next phase of my career, better suited for being a mother and businesswoman!
My life has been rich with artistic and creative endeavors, where my love of music, art and language have been put to use. I was a vocalist for over 10 years with a group of talented professional musicians, where I had the life-changing opportunity to travel to multiple cities across Nicaragua as part of the the performance band for a traveling conference. I have had the privilege of being a Spanish translator for medical missions there as well, and helped cook meals for the locals whose home was the county's largest garbage dump. It was humbling to share incredibly raw moments with beautiful people in of one of the poorest nations in the western hemisphere. I have also had the opportunity to serve youth through various programs, and have performed on stage painting large scale paintings to the music of a live band. (gallery below) I believe we are all gifted with unique talents. When those can be used for a positive influence to humankind, there is no greater calling. It is my hope my art helps, heals, and brings beauty to this world. |
